Happy Fourth!

Happy fourth of July 2010!!!

For the first time in many (many, MANY) moons, we spent the fourth of July NOT in Maine this year. And although it was completely strange not to be watching fireworks from Long Beach on the island, we vowed to make the best of it. And so, we packed up the cooler, the car, and the kiddos to go see the very popular fireworks at the Wakefield Lake.  We got there at 4:00 to secure a good parking spot (check) and a great spot by the lake to watch the show (check.) Auntie Meri & Uncle Mike joined us (with Tanner, of course) which made the festivities even more fun.

The weather was picture-perfect as the day turned into a beautiful summer dusk:

Both kiddos did remarkably well with the waiting...and waiting...and waiting. (Let's put it this way, it was a LOT of waiting for me, and I am almost thirty!)

It was a good thing we brought jammies for everyone since the fireworks didn't even start until 2 hours past bedtime!!

Once the show finally began, they both LOVED it!! (even Gav, who I worried might be scared)

By the end of the night, everyone was all tuckered out and ready for bed...

Happy Fourth folks!
